How to Make At Least One Checkbox Required on a Fillable Form

Learn how to adjust checkbox fields so candidates or clients must select at least one option when completing your form.

Once you’ve uploaded the image you want to use as a fillable form, go to the question that contains multiple checkboxes.

Create a box around all the checkboxes (see example in screenshot).

A Field Information pop-up will appear. Fill it out as follows:

  • Field Type: Select Radio

  • Name of Group: Enter any name you’d like (e.g., the title of the question)

  • Is Required: Select this option

  • Consecutive Fields: Select this option

  • Vertical Fields: Select this if your checkboxes are displayed vertically (leave blank if horizontal)

  • Number of Fields: Enter the number of checkboxes in the question

Then click submit

Once complete, each checkbox will appear as an option. This ensures the form requires the client or candidate to select at least one option before submission.
