[Application Forms & Profiles](https://learn.enginehire.io/en/knowledge/application-forms-profiles?hsLang=en) # Set Application Questions as Required or Optional ## Configure application questions and fields in Candidate and Client profiles as required or optional. This allows you to control which information users must provide and which fields they can leave blank when completing a profile. Let's get started 🚀 **Step 1**: Log in to your agent dashboard and click **More** \> **Application & Profile Builder**, as shown in the screenshot below. ![image3](https://learn.enginehire.io/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base/Application%20Forms/Set%20Application%20Questions%20as%20Required%20or%20Optional/image3.png?width=670&height=237&name=image3.png) **Step 2**: Click the **Filter by type** box to open the dropdown list.   ![image2](https://learn.enginehire.io/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base/Application%20Forms/Set%20Application%20Questions%20as%20Required%20or%20Optional/image2.png?width=670&height=181&name=image2.png) **Step 3**: Select **Profile** from the dropdown list to filter the profile builders.  For demonstration purposes, this article uses a **profile** builder as an example.
