Send a Personalized Link to Finish an Application that will Open Where that Client or Candidate Has Left Off.

When someone begins an application but does not finish it, you can email them a personal link that brings them back to their application. It works like an advanced abandoned-cart reminder.

Once someone enters their email address in an Application, Enginehire creates their profile and assigns them an ID. That ID lets us send a link connected to their application. This can be used for both candidate and client application forms.

Step 1: Find your regular application link

Your normal application link will look similar to this:

https://youragencyname.enginehire.io/application-form/123/456

Every agency and form will have its own link. The numbers in your link will be different.

Step 2: Add the person’s Enginehire ID merge field

To send each person back to their own application, add this to the end of your normal application link:

?user=[[id]]

Your final personalized link should look like this:

https://youragency.enginehire.io/application-form/123/456?user=[[id]]

When the email is sent, Enginehire automatically replaces [[id]] with that recipient’s unique profile ID.

For example, the recipient will receive a link that looks like this:

https://youragency.enginehire.io/application-form/123/456?user=987654

Step 3: Add it to an email template or automation

Use this personalized link in an email template, button, or automation for people who started but did not finish their application.

Suggested button text:

  • Finish Your Application
  • Continue Your Application
  • Complete Your Application

Example email

Subject: Finish your application

Hi [[first_name]],

It looks like you started your application but did not get a chance to finish it.

You can pick up where you left off by clicking below.

[Finish Your Application]

We look forward to learning more about you.

Important

  • The applicant must enter their email address before Enginehire can create their profile and unique ID.
  • Keep your own application link exactly as it is, then add ?user=[[id]] to the end.
  • Use one link per form. If you have separate client and candidate forms, each will have its own application link.
