[Templates & Communication](https://learn.enginehire.io/en/knowledge/templates-communication?hsLang=en) # Downloading a signed document as a landscape PDF ## Set a document template to print in landscape so certificates and wide forms download cleanly, without the browser adding its own margins, headers, or page numbers. Some documents are wider than they are tall. Certificates are the usual example, with a logo across the top, a wide border, and signature lines running the full width of the page. When someone downloads one of these, Enginehire hands the document to the browser's print dialog, and unless the template says otherwise the browser lays the page out in portrait and adds its own margins, date, web address, and page numbers. A certificate designed for a single landscape page can end up spread across three portrait ones. You can change that on any document template with a single checkbox. The download then opens already set to landscape, with the browser's margins, headers, and footers stripped out, so the document comes out looking the way you built it. ### Setting a template to print in landscape From your agent dashboard, go to **More \> Document Templates** and click the **pencil** icon on the template you want to change. ![](https://learn.enginehire.io/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-06-2026-01-58-45-9967-PM.png?width=2474&height=905&name=image-png-Oct-06-2026-01-58-45-9967-PM.png) On **Step 1: Basic Settings**, look under the **Target Audience** heading and tick **Print this Document in Landscape**. Your other templates are unaffected. Landscape controls the shape of the page. If you also want to remove the heading block that Enginehire prints above the document, that is a separate setting further along in the same editor. On **Step 4: Advanced Settings**, open **Permissions & Access** and tick **Don't show agency logo and document title at the top when download document**. Confirm, choose where to save, and you are done. Nothing needs changing in the dialog itself. Because landscape gives the content the full width of the page, documents that used to run over several pages usually come down to one. A genuinely long document will still run to more than one page, and that is expected.
