# Allow Clients to Have Multiple Addresses

## Set up an address book section so clients can save more than one address and pick which one they want service at when they submit a booking.

**Give clients an address book so they can save more than one address and choose which one they want service at when they submit a booking.**

Some clients need service at more than one place. A family with a second home, a client who manages several properties, or a company with multiple offices all run into the same limit if their profile only holds a single address. Setting up an address book solves this. You build an address section once, add it to the client profile, then point the booking form at it so saved addresses become selectable at booking time.

There are three parts to the setup, and all three are needed before the address picker appears on a booking.

### 1. Build the address book section

This creates the section that holds each saved address.

1. From the top navigation, go to **More** and select **Application & Profile Builder**.

2. Select **Add**.

3. Give the section a name. Address Book and Locations both work, and anything your clients will recognize is fine.
4. Set it as a **Section**, set it to apply to the **Client**, and set the type to **Address**.

#### Add the fields

Start with a label field so the client can name each address. Without one, a client with three saved addresses sees three near-identical entries and has to read the street lines to tell them apart. Something like "Beach house" or "Main office" makes the picker readable at booking time.

Add a text box for that label and set its model to `notes`. Then use **Insert Field** to add the address fields. When you choose the address preset and set the field type to Text, the model fills in on its own, so your job on these is to check rather than type. Confirm each one matches before moving on.

Add any other fields your agency needs, such as gate codes or parking notes. When the fields are in place, open the **Layout** tab to arrange how they display, then select **Save**.

### 2. Add the section to the client profile

The section exists now, but nothing points to it yet. Adding it to the profile is what lets clients enter and manage their addresses.

1. Go to the **client profile** and select the **pencil icon**.

2. Select **Section**, then choose the address book section you created.
3. Position it where you want it to appear in the profile.
4. Optionally select **Field Remark** and add a short line explaining what the section is for. This is worth doing, since clients filling out a profile for the first time won't necessarily know why they are being asked for more than one address.
5. Select **Save**.

If you also want new clients to enter their addresses during registration, repeat the same steps on the **application** using its pencil icon.

### 3. Point the booking form at the address book

This is the step that turns saved addresses into something a client can pick from. Until it's done, clients can store multiple addresses but still can't choose between them when booking.

1. Go back to **Application & Profile Builder** and find the section that contains the booking form. Select its **pencil icon**.

2. Scroll to where the address belongs. The address is a default field, so it won't already be listed here.
3. Select **Add Field** and choose **Address**.

4. Under **Preset Fields**, choose **Address Fields**.
5. Select **Select from user addresses**.
6. Select **Save**.

**Clients with only one saved address:** nothing changes for them. When a client has a single address on file, it fills in automatically instead of showing a picker, so turning this on won't add a step for clients who don't need it.
