Add a New Administrator
Create a new admin account in your agency and control exactly what they can access. After adding an administrator, you can assign permissions, define their responsibilities, and use advanced settings to limit their access to specific types, tags, locations, or other criteria. This helps you create focused admin roles and ensures each team member only works with the parts of the platform that are relevant to them. This documentation will walk you through adding a new administrator and configuring their access settings.
Let’s get started 🚀
Step 1: Log in to your agent dashboard, then navigate to More > Administrators, as shown in the screenshot below.

Adding a new administrator may result in an additional fee. For details about admin-related charges, please refer to your agreement or contact us at hello@enginehire.ca if you have any questions.
Your subscription will be updated automatically to reflect this change.

The New Administrator will be added successfully.
Once the admin's information is added to the system, they can log in using the same URL that admins, candidates, and clients use, and for their first login both the username and password will be their email address. You don't need to pass those details on yourself, though — Enginehire prepares an email for you, which is covered in the next step.

Step 7: Review and send the new administrator their login details.
As soon as the administrator is created, Enginehire opens an email addressed to them with the subject Enginehire: New Admin Account and the body already written for you. It confirms that their account has been created, gives them the URL for your agency's dashboard, tells them their username is their email address, and explains that the same address acts as their password on that first login before they are prompted to create one of their own.
Because it opens as a normal email, you can shape it before it goes. Add a line welcoming them, copy a colleague using the CC or BCC fields, or attach something like your internal onboarding guide, keeping attachments under 10MB so the email still sends. Any changes you make apply to this one message.
When you are happy with it, click Send Email. A short countdown appears giving you a few seconds to click Send Now to skip the wait or Cancel if you have spotted something to change, and a Message sent confirmation follows. If the new administrator isn't starting for another week or two, Schedule Send lets you set it to arrive closer to their first day instead.
The email arrives from your agency and looks like this to your new administrator. Since it carries the credentials to your dashboard, it's worth asking them to keep it somewhere safe until they have set their own password.
Step 8: If you would rather send the details yourself, click Don't Send.
You are never obliged to send the prepared message. Closing it this way emails no one, and the administrator account is unaffected either way since it has already been created and is sitting in your Admin Manager list. Just remember that your new administrator won't have heard anything from Enginehire, so you will need to give them the dashboard URL and walk them through the first login yourself.
Update Administrator Permissions
Step 1: After you add the administrator, click the person icon with the gear, as shown in the screenshot below, to open the Permission Settings.

Step 2: You can remove this admin’s access from any dashboard area. To do this, hover over the tab for the area you want to remove; a cross option will appear. Click on it to remove the access.

Step 3: You can also add any remaining dashboard area in the admin access by clicking in the box as shown in the screenshot below.

Step 4: A dropdown list appears (showing the dashboard areas not included in the admin access), and then you select the dashboard area that you want to add to the admin’s access.

Step 5: Check or uncheck the checkboxes to grant or revoke the necessary permissions for the new administrator.

Step 6: Click the Submit button to save the configured permissions for the new administrator.

Activate/Deactivate Admin
By default, administrator accounts are in active state when created. However, you can deactivate an administrator account whenever required. Follow the steps below to deactivate an administrator account.
Step 1: Click the Edit icon next to the administrator you want to deactivate under the Actions column.

Step 2: Check the Deactivate admin checkbox.

Step 3: Click on the Save button to apply the changes.

You can reactivate the administrator account at any time by unchecking the Deactivate admin checkbox and clicking Save.
